Current Shelter Residents

Lucy

Lucy was surrendered to The Bucket Foundation because she was having a hard time being the only horse at her previous home. Since coming here she has become very attached to her pasture mate Azadonya and seems to really enjoy having some company.

Azadonya

Azadonya has been a resident of our shelter since 2004. She has suffered from severe hormonal imbalances which have manifested themselves in dangerous behavior to herself and others. She was eventually spayed in 2008, and afterwards she progressed rapidly in her training. She has insulin resistance but we have been able to manage it well with dietary accommodations. Sayonara

Sayonara was brought to us by a local rescue as a feral dog who could not be domesticated but needed a safe home. She started off very skittish but became best friends with one of our other shelter residents (Kanji) early on in her stay. She has really settled in, and even accepts pets from our farm staff every now and then.

Daybreak

Daybreak was a neighbor's horse who lost his pasture mates to old age and needed a place to go with some friends to keep him company. He has settled in nicely with Tarzan and Kamila (a personal horse) and his owner still can visit him and even see him from his backyard and bring him his favorite snack - payday bars!
